Drawing, sample, material, quantity or replacement of an old part: these guidelines help you prepare an actionable enquiry. They remain general because every part must be assessed against its actual operating environment.

Define the requirement
What information should I provide for an assessment?
State the function of the part, its dimensions, required quantity and known constraints. A drawing, photograph or existing part makes assessment easier. Also specify the material when imposed, or the operating environment when it remains to be selected.
Can you work from an existing sample?
Yes. An existing part can be the starting point, particularly for maintenance or replacement of an obsolete reference. It must allow reliable geometry to be recorded; wear and deformation will be considered during the discussion.
Is a drawing essential?
No. A dimensioned drawing remains the clearest definition, but a photograph, sketch or sample can provide a starting point. The workshop will identify any additional information required before manufacturing.
What quantities can be requested?
Available information confirms work from one-off parts to production runs, but no validated numerical threshold is currently published. State the intended quantity because it influences the process, possible tooling and quotation.
How do I select the right material?
Begin with the function and constraints: sealing, insulation, compression, friction, temperature, fluids, pressure or outdoor environment. Découpe Express can then relate this information to the material families it converts.
Which material families are converted?
Available sources mention rubbers and elastomers, foams, plastics, PTFE, flexible PVC, felts, cork, jointing sheets and certain special materials. Grades and compatibility must be confirmed for each project.
Can you identify an unknown material?
A part, reference or operating context can help guide the investigation. Certain identification or equivalence should not be promised without sufficient technical data or suitable analysis.

Select the process
What is the difference between cutting, machining, moulding and assembly?
How is the process selected?
It depends on material, geometry, expected precision, quantity and use. When several processes are possible, the workshop can recommend a coherent route based on the definition supplied.
Can you replace an obsolete part?
Yes, this is one of the intended project types. Assessment may use a drawing, reference or existing part. Geometric reproduction must however be distinguished from functional validation, which requires knowledge of the use and constraints.
04 · Submission
Drawings and files
Which files can I upload through the form?
The current form accepts up to three files, each no larger than 5 MB, in JPG, PNG or PDF format. If your definition uses another technical format, mention it in your message so that a suitable transfer method can be agreed.
What should a photograph show?
Photograph the complete part and then the useful details, with a scale reference where possible. Add the main dimensions, thickness and any visible marking or reference.
How should I submit a confidential request?
The form is intended for initial contact. For sensitive drawings or specific confidentiality requirements, raise the issue before submission so that an appropriate channel and conditions can be agreed.
